A mixer that happens to utility
Lots of utility modules in Eurorack happen to mix. And mixers, they usually just stick to mixing. But you'll need properly both in just about any rack.
Segmix is properly both.
On the surface, Segmix is for all appearances a 6 channel mono mixer with a main output bus that can be segmented apart by patching out, and an aux output bus that can be rerouted by switch: listen to the previous main bus, aux bus, or isolate the bus at each channel. A clickless mute with latched and momentary positions adds performance mixing flexibility. Chain Segmix on the back for longer mix buses.
But at its heart, four channels of Segmix are powered by a 4-quadrant VCA based on the circuit behind Blinds. Section off a channel and use it to do CV manipulation, ring modulation, or anything else you might need a polarizing VCA for. If you don't want it to polarize for the moment, flip the polarity switch up for the channel and it becomes a pure attenuator. The slider will even rescale to fill and curve into a more exponential audio-like response.
The last two channels feature instead an optional direct aux bus input that helps bring stereo signals back into the mixer, using the two buses as the left and right channels.
Put it all together and you have the ideal solution for racks small and large: mix channels in from the right, using the routing flexibility to create FX sends and more. Pull a couple channels off the left and isolate them to use the VCA and the aux fader. Rebalance your mixer to suit your latest patch.

Add the upcoming Stepmix expander to access sequencing and switching onboard Segmix. Dual-purpose any number of channels across your whole chain to participate in one of several switching modes. Dial a sequence in with sliders, the old-fashioned way, or bring the VCAs into the mix for something spicier.
